Curriculum

Phonics
Your child will enjoy carefully sequenced activities that will teach him his vowels, consonants, blends, one-vowel words, and two-vowel words. The Abeka method has produced thousands of successful readers for more than half a century!

Reading
Building on this foundation of phonics, by second semester your child will actually be reading little books!

Manuscript Writing
From tracing the letters to writing them on his own, your child will be taught to neatly print his letters as he carefully forms each “ball” and “stick.” The “houses” with upstairs, downstairs, and basement guide your child in the size and placement of each letter. As he carefully fo1ms his letters, he will learn the character qualities of neatness and caring about his work.

Numbers
Your child will love the numerous counting and coloring activities that teach him number concepts and formation of numbers 1-20 and counting up to 100. Adding 1 to a number acquaints him with how numbers work.

We make learning numbers fun by giving your two-year-old large, simple pictures to color as he counts the objects. While he’s learning his numbers, shapes, pairs, and opposites, he’ll also develop skills such as counting to ten, hand-eye coordination, coloring, and listening, along with thinking and reasoning.

Your three-year-old is already capable of learning so many things! With the activities done in class, it will enhance his knowledge of shapes, pairs, opposites, numbers 1-15, sequence of events, senses, seasons, weather, animals, countries, transportation, dot-to-dot, coloring, thinking and reasoning skills, listening skills, and more!

You want your child to enjoy reading. But, before he starts reading, he needs to learn the letters and their sounds. This ABC curriculum gives a special animal friend to introduce each new letter to help your child recognize the letter as well as learn that letter’s sound. Review is accomplished through small projects based on each letter. Activities include tracing practice and using finger paint, glue, and crayons. Your child will look forward to learning his ABCs!

Your preschoolers have learned some amazing things in such a short time! Coloring gives students a fun way to review colors and shapes, develop hand-eye coordination, and enhance thinking and listening skills. Reviewing each week’s lessons on seasons, patriotism, Bible truths, health, safety, and science turns learning into fun!

Take advantage of your child’s inquiring mind and teach him that learning is fun! This simple, logical phonics system helps your child find success immediately so that he can quickly become an independent reader of little books that hold his interest.
